RUFF RUFF

"Ruff Ruff" is Sydney's new favorite game. She made this game up a few days ago and has been playing it with the daycare kids. She pretends to be a dog and crawls around saying "ruff ruff." This is funny but the really funny part is this...

She steals a dish towel off of the oven handle and makes herself a puppy tail. Yep, cracks me up every time.

Happy Birthday Logan!!!!

I can't believe it!! My little boy turned 1 on Saturday. I am both happy and a little sad. I love to watch my children grow and learn new things, but I am also sad that he is no longer my little baby. He is not quite walking yet but he is right on the verge. He yells all day long! And when I say all day I mean ALL day. He has found his voice the past few weeks and has decided that he REALLY REALLY likes it. It cracks me up because he will just yell for no reason and then he will smile and laugh at himself about it. I love my little man and feel very blessed to be his mother.

Happy Birthday Logan!

I made this Turtle Cupcake Cake for his birthday. I thought it turned out ok, especially because I am not a cake decorator. I also made this little cake with the leftover batter.

Here he is with his cake and cupcake. Boy did he make a mess. We stripped him down to his diaper and put him right in the bath after he was done.

Here he is with some of his new toys. He liked his gifts but he liked the $1 balloon most. He would have been happy if that was all he got.

The Biltmore

November 1st and 2nd we headed to Asheville, NC to tour the Biltmore. It is the Vanderbilt Family Estate and it is so neat. I can't even fathom being so wealthy. The indoor pool and fitness room were my favorites. Everywhere you looked there were ornate details....EVERYWHERE! There was just so much to see. We could have spent much longer on our tour but we tried to be quick so that the kids didn't get too ancey. The Christmas decorations didn't officially begin until November 7th but most of them were already up and they were fantastic. I can't imagine how long it took to put them all up. Here are some of the details up close on the outside.

Here we are having a great time and enjoying our day. The weather was perfect and the scenery was breathtaking!

You are not allowed to take pictures inside but we didn't know until after we took one. Here is our one and only unauthorized photo.
We at lunch in the restaurant located in what used to be the stables. The food was not that great but the atmosphere was fun. Here are the children enjoying themselves at our table. That Logan is so expressive these days.
The children enjoyed staying in the hotel. Sydney especially liked the swimming pool. Logan was a crazy man playing on the beds. He never fell off but I thought he was going to.

This picture was actually taken at a rest stop just before we got to Asheville.
We had a great weekend and if you ever get the chance to go to the Biltmore I would say do it! Maybe one day we will go back without the kids and stay at the Inn on the Biltmore Estate.

Shhh...

I just had to share this cute picture of Sydney. She rarely takes naps these days but she fell asleep on her own a few afternoons ago. I love my sweet girl and can't believe how big she is getting.

Trunk or Treat & Trick or Treat

The Friday before Halloween our ward held Trunk or Treat. We took the kids and had a fun time despite the rain. The children went around the gym to different tables instead of going from car to car. It worked out well. There were also games for the children to play and Sydney really enjoyed herself. Here she is playing games.

I decided to be festive and made this Halloween dinner the night before Halloween. I thought they were cute. Besides, who doesn't like pigs in a blanket? I guess "mummies in a blanket" would be more appropriate.

Sydney wore the same outfit for Halloween. She was a butterfly and Logan was a Lobster. They were both so cute and Sydney really enjoyed getting to wear "butterfly" makeup.

Here we are all ready to go...

However, there were only three houses with lights on in our neighborhood (we live on a street with almost all elderly people and we love it) so we packed up in the car and headed to a nearby neighborhood with lots of lights on. Here we are trick-or-treating.

Sydney enjoyed trick-or-treating and she would normally say thank-you, though I doubt if the people at each door could hear her. After completing one street (it was pretty long) she was pretty tired and Logan was exhausted so we headed back home. It was a fun night. I can't wait till next year!

Logan's New Do

I finally had Logan's haircut. I kept putting it off because I thought it would make him look like a big boy instead of my baby. Well, I was right - it did make him look like a big boy, but such a cute one! Here is my little man and is cute new do.
