Busch Gardens Take Two!

This past weekend we decided to head to my parent's house for a visit since Heath starts school again next week. On Saturday we decided to take advantage of our Busch Gardens Fun Pass and go one more time this summer. This time the children got to come and Sydney was very excited. She was especially excited because some of her cousins came too. It was really nice weather (not too hot) and we only went for a few hours in the evening. Sydney really enjoyed the rides and water play area. Here she is on a few of the rides.

We stayed until 9pm and didn't get back to my parent's house until almost midnight. The children were so tired. It was a nice and quiet ride home.

The Many Faces of Logan

Logan's personality has really started to come out the past few months. He is a silly and funny little boy. He loves to play with the buttons on our TIVO and DVD player. He also really likes to put his fingers in his mouth until he gags. Why? I hate gagging. He seems to think it is funny. He laughs at his big sister all the time and he is normally just smiling. I know that I am biased but he is so CUTE!

Why does he do this? I hate to gag!

A Weekend Alone!

This past weekend Heath and I made our escape. We took the children up to my parents and headed off to Gettysburg, PA. I like to do stuff when I go on trips (not just sit around) and this time I think Heath and I were able to do lots of fun things. We arrived at our hotel on Friday evening, a little too late to hit the battlefields but plenty of time for dinner and a movie. We went to see Wallie, which I must admit is super cute. Going to a movie is a rare treat for us since Sydney was born and this was actually the second movie we got to see in the theater in the past two weeks! Our hotel was really nice (thanks Priceline) and it had this fun presidential theme. Everything was red, blue, or gold and there were stars and presidential seals everywhere. Not what I would use to decorate my home, but a fun theme for a hotel.

The next day we decided to head to Lancaster, PA for the day and see Amish country. It was a little over an hour away but worth the trip. We saw several Amish farms and even an Amish midget. I know, really fun! We went shopping at several local stores and tasted several jams and relishes made by the locals. They were pretty good, at least most of them were. We also at a late lunch at the famous Good and Plenty Restaurant. I can now understand why it is famous. The food was awesome! You eat family style and are seated at tables with several other groups. It was kind of fun to meet some new people. One couple at our table was from Utah, it was fun to talk about places we had all been.

We made it back to Gettysburg that night to take a ride on the Ghost Train. It was on a 1920's railroad car and we rode through the battlefields while a guide told us ghost stories of the area. It was nice, but not quite as scary as we thought it would be. Here we are boarding the train.

The next morning we woke up early and checked out of our hotel. We then headed to downtown Gettysburg for what turned out to be the funnest part of our trip. We took a segway tour of the battlefields. It was seriously SO MUCH FUN! We looked a little dorky with our helmets on but who cares because we were having a blast. After about five minutes you feel completely comfortable on the things and having about a twenty minute practice session we were ready to ride. It was really neat to see so much history in one place but I must admit that we didn't pay very much attention to the tour because we were having too much fun playing on the segways. If you ever have the chance to ride one of these - do it! It is totally worth the money.

Summer Fun

I must admit that being a mom is totally worth it. Just look at those smiles!

Catching Up

Well, I don't know why I always wait and post a whole bunch at once, but as usual here I go again.

Our ward had a Pioneer Day activity a few weeks ago. I took the kids and had a fun time in spite of the heat! It was seriously hot that day. Heath couldn't make it because he was taking finals for his summer semester.

Here is Sydney running in the 3-5 year old footrace. I know, she is only 2 but she really wanted to try. However, she got scared or worried half way through and just stopped. So funny. Notice that all the other children are already finished.

Here is the only picture I took of Logan. He spent most of the time sleeping in the stroller. The other time he spent doing his favorite things eating and chewing on things.

We had to leave a little early because of nap time, but we still had a fun time.
