Family and Fun

Last weekend we went to my parents house for a visit. On Saturday, Heath and I went to Busch Gardens in Williamsburg, VA. My sister watched the kids for us and it was so nice to have a day just the two of us. The park was REALLY crowded because there was a middle school band competition that day but we managed to hit a few rides and some shows. They had a "riverdance" show that was really good. We also got to eat our favorite amusement park treats like funnel cakes and waffle cones. The weather was perfect and we had a great time. One of the best things is that at Busch Gardens if you are a VA resident your one-day pass becomes a season pass for the rest of the summer. We are hoping to make it back there a few more times this summer and take advantage of the great deal.

My grandmother also came to visit this weekend. It was a rare treat to get to see her. My grandfather passed away last fall and I know that it has been tough for her. She is doing great and is such a strong woman. It was nice to have her all to ourselves for a few hours on Sunday. Our children had lots of fun with her. Logan even took a few naps on her. I am grateful that my children had the opportunity to get to spend time with her and to take this sweet picture. I should have made my mom get in so there would have been four generations in it. But I love it all the same. We love you mimi!

Natural Bridge

We took a family trip to Natural Bridge, Virginia to see the Natural Bridge. It was breathtaking. It is a little over an hour drive from where we live and we really had a great day. The kids did great in the car catching up on their naps on the way home. George Washington carved his initials on the wall and that was pretty neat. There was also an Indian Village, a cave, a beautiful stream, and a waterfall to see. We made it to everything but the waterfall because Sydney was starting to get tired and we needed to head for home. Maybe next time.

This stuffed bear was in the gift shop and as you can see it was huge. Sydney was pretty scared of it first until I told her it was fake and then she was ok. She kept saying, "it's not real," as if to reassure herself. It was pretty cute.

Park Plans

On Friday we went to the park with a few friends and the kids had a great time. We packed a lunch but none of the children were very interested in eating. They just wanted to play! They even passed up ice cream sundaes so they could get to the playground sooner. Here are some pictures I took when I had a spare moment in between swing pushing and slide catching. Thanks go out to Hollie's in-laws who kept an eye on Logan for me.

A Daily Occurance

Sydney loves to color! You can find her in this exact position with her markers or crayons several times each day. We love her coloring too because it keeps her occupied while we get things done. We love our little artist!

Good Cookies and Great Friends

Here is a picture of Sydney and the little girl I watch enjoying their spoils after helping make some cookies. Sydney really loves the days I do daycare because she gets to play with her friends. She has recently started yelling the names of the children I watch out the window when they aren't here and she wishes they were. I think it is cute how much she loves her friends.

Dancing with Daddy

After FHE we decided to make some cookies together. To pass time while they were in the oven Sydney was dancing around the kitchen. She quickly persuaded her Daddy to dance with her and they were so cute! Sydney loves to dance on Heath's feet and it is easy to tell that Heath is in heaven when he is dancing with his little girl! Dads are the best!

Outdoor fun

It has finally started to get warm and we have been trying to take advantage of it. Here are some pictures of Logan outside in his bouncy seat while Sydney blew bubbles. He really likes being outdoors. He is especially fond of the wind. He will take a deep breath when it blows and sometimes he will start to giggle or smile for no reason.

If At First You Don't Succeed...

TRY.......

TRY AGAIN!

Sydney learned to blow bubbles all by herself a few days ago. She had to practice lots but she finally got the hang of it!

Making A Mess Is Oh So FUN!!!

Who doesn't enjoy making a mess every once in a while. I know that I like it. Sydney REALLY enjoys it. Here she is getting into my makeup. I was in the room with her, I guess I should have been paying closer attention to her.

Then yesterday while I was on the phone Sydney got a little carried away with her coloring project. I apparently had not learned my lesson since after only a few minutes on her own she came to show me her beautiful artwork. I must admit, she is talented!
